Refer to old news: Line Affected, Undersea Cables Likely Down for Another Week

I don’t feel like having better speed as they were promised on 31 December 2008 the connections restored.

I think not everyone know about World of Undersea Cables map site and List of international submarine communications cables. Both this is very useful when reffering.

Today is 2nd January 2009, when I go search engine, I could not found any related about latest of this. They promise to repair effected undersea cable on 31st December 2008, but very dissapointed. Still snail speed…

In Malaysia, I could not find the best way to re-route my connections directly to another ISP since major shareholder and coverage in Malaysia hold by TmNet, the dissapointed quality they give.

While Singapore does not affected, Malaysia are ones really affected (Remebering us Taiwan Earthquake Year 2006), and India suffering outage that lost internet to Europe web, phone and private line that damaged 2 in Egypt and Italy communications and one from Malta may have been damaged by an earthquake, that is 3 undersea cable. (Contains mass fiber optics every one undersea cable)

At least one week to make sure this line fixed, Malaysia user like me having difficulty to download link Rapidshare from Europe server and I’ve re-route my link to Hong Kong and Japan instead.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) struggling to help arrangements to repair those cuts fiber optics. By this earlier 2009, most fiber optics schedule to be repaired by an Italian cable ship, was in the area to seek and repair the damaged cable using a remotely operated submarine robots.
